Jorogumo are Japanese Yokai (Spider Demons). They are also known as the Golden Orb-Weavers in English. These beings are known to turn into beautiful women (and men) to lure their prey into their homes, after which; most are never seen again. The Jorogumo, while often depicted as women can also be a male, though the males sometimes go unnoticed in the background.
Most Jorogumo live solitary lives away from others of their kind. It's said when a Jorogumo reaches 400 years of age, they develop the ability to feed on humans instead of insects. They make their homes in caves, forests or empty houses and are extremely intelligent. They are skillful in the art of deception and very powerful shapeshifters.
As companions, Jorogumo can help draw in lovers as well as chasing unwanted people away. They can teach you the art of deception and how to lure your prey to you.
