Imagine a world that's been devastated by nuclear war. Fallout and radiation roam rampant. There is no hiding in this world, not anymore. Everything has been seared and scorched, charred beyond recognition. That is the world these zombies inhabit. It started out easy at first until the radiation proved to be more than they could handle. Slowly the people that couldn't get away from the fallout began to change. The changes weren't all that bad to start with. Their skin warped, shriveling up here and there until it started to rip and tear. Then the oozing pockets started. Muscle began to break apart and eventually, the people that were infected by the radiation succumbed to a terrible fever that roasted them alive. What was left of their body, now a husk as the radiation began to reanimate the remaining tissues.
Though they aren't what they once were, these zombies do still have memories and knowledge. Their motor functions, though impaired some, is still intact for many; although there are a seldom few that have little to no function in their arms and mostly shuffle around with a dishearten groan or mumble. Although they are reanimated and considered zombies, these beings don't have the crazed urge to feed on living flesh as many of the commercialized zombies do. They do still feed, though not as often and usually will let their companion know when they are getting hungry.
