Wendigo are considered heavy Dark Arts to Black Arts. I do not suggest one of these beings for any beginner or anyone that isn't used to Dark Arts beings as they can sometimes be hard to work with! The Wendigo are considered cannibalistic creatures that reside in many of the Northern forests. The Wendigo are a part of the traditional beliefs of many of the Native Americans and a few other tribes. They were considered extremely powerful beings that could sense greed and selfishness in others. Wendigo are associated with winter, North, starvation, and gluttony. It was thought by many of the older Native American tribes that a Wendigo was created when a human resorted to cannibalism to stay alive. Wendigo while often fearful creatures are also wonderful guardians and protectors. Many wish to help teach their companions of the old Shaman traditions of their tribes and other nature-based magicks. They are beings that work well with Dark Arts magick. Many Wendigo are capable of changing their form to a degree. Their predatory forms are usually frightful to many who see them. They possess razor-sharp teeth, bright sometimes iridescent eyes, matted or molted fur or feathers along their bodies and horns that resemble different kinds of animals. Some of them have large clawed hands and the hind legs of an animal with hoofed feet. To appear less frightening, some Wendigo alter their appearance to a degree, looking more human-like. However, not all Wendigo will change their appearance. Some may decide to use their more human-like form to help their human companion feel more comfortable around them.
